My Final Major Project, Romantic Decadence, is based on the concept of a young woman in the regency period (1810-1830). I have based my project on this subject as I would like to make a body of work which has a romantic twist on the times, which may not have been a nice time to live. I have also incorporated feminism into my project as the expectations of a woman during these times are very different to now.

To develop my ideas I have used my own photography to create floral backgrounds, which I have then used hand embroidery, machine stitch and digital embroidery on top of these images, to create some of my final pieces.

This project is intended for high fashion, women’s wear. Fashion is a main influence on my work, I see my designs as delicate cascading garments on the body.
